Dominus Veldré
Dominus Veldré marks the second architectural phenomena in Veldré's collection.
The case is finished in black and constructed as a full circular frame with a recessed interior. The dial sits deep within the case, creating shadow and separation rather than a flat surface.
At the centre is a black opal set within a dark void. The stone shifts in colour depending on light, reinforcing the idea of renewal and transition. Surrounding it is a hand-formed ouroboros, completing a continuous circle around the core. A ruby is set into the eye, introduced as a restrained point of contrast.
An eclipse form curves along the interior of the case, partially framing the dial and reinforcing the circular language of the piece. The time display is intentionally secondary and offset, positioned outside the central composition rather than dominating it.
The ouroboros, the opal, and the eclipse work together as a study in repetition, return, and renewal. The design is enclosed, controlled, and cyclical by structure rather than ornament.
